Auction Auto Shipping / Car Shipping Calculator

If you’ve ever bought at Manheim, Copart, or IAA, you know the clock starts the second you win. Storage deadlines, in-op surprises, and lane demand all move the price. Our calculator reflects the lowest possible price

Why this calculator is different

  • Auction-specific logic. We price in-op, no-key, non-rolling correctly—no “we’ll figure it out later.”
  • Storage-aware. We factor urgency when your storage deadline is close.
  • Equipment-honest. If a forklift is required by the yard, it shows up on the estimate.
  • Open vs. Enclosed clarity. Side-by-side costs with pros/cons.

How pricing actually works (plain English)

  • Distance & lane demand: Busy lanes move cheaper/faster; thin lanes cost a touch more.
  • Condition: Runs & drives is cheaper. In-op usually needs winch; non-rolling often requires forklift.
  • Trailer type: Open is standard; enclosed protects exotics/fresh paint and costs more.
  • Size/weight & access: Big SUVs, oversize wheels, or tight residential streets can affect rate and truck choice.
  • Timing pressure: “Need out by Friday” costs more than “anytime next week.”

Example routes

  • Manheim Atlanta Orlando (run & drive, open): Regional lane, quick pickup, usually a budget move.
  • Copart Dallas Phoenix (in-op, open + winch): Adds winch surcharge; still efficient on this lane.
  • IAA Los Angeles Seattle (enclosed): Premium handling; priced higher but protects fresh paint/collectibles.

Actual totals vary by lane demand, storage timing, and on-site condition. Your on-page calculator will show the exact breakdown.

What to have ready

  • Gate pass/release (auctions won’t load without it)
  • Lot # & VIN
  • Operability truth: runs, keys, steering, brakes, wheels/tires
  • Any loose parts or low-clearance notes
  • Your deadline (storage or port)

FAQs

Do I pay before a driver is assigned?
No. You only pay after dispatch and you’ve confirmed details.

Can you move non-running or non-rolling vehicles?
Yes. We plan winch or forklift (if required by the yard) and show any fees up front.

Open vs. enclosed—how do I choose?
Open is standard and cost-effective. Choose enclosed for exotics, collectibles, or fresh paint.

Can you deliver to my house?
Usually yes. If your street can’t accept a large truck, we meet at a safe nearby location.

How fast can you pick up?
Often 24–72 hours, depending on lane demand and branch activity. Tell us your storage cutoff and we’ll prioritize.
